The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District provides quality emergency and intensive care services through four different Emergency Departments, one Urgent Primary Care Centre, and two Intensive Care Units. It also provides a district-wide Organ and Tissue Donation Service. Emergency ServiceEmergency Care is provided is provided to nearly 15,000 patients a month across the Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District at five sites. Emergency Departments for emergency conditions are located at Wollongong, Shellharbour, Shoalhaven District Memorial and Milton Ulladulla Hospitals, with an Urgent Primary Care Centre for less urgent conditions at Bulli District Hospital. |

Intensive CareThere are two Intensive Care Units in the Illawarra Shoalhaven – located at Wollongong Hospital and Shoalhaven District Memorial Hospital. Intensive Care refers to the specialised treatment given to people who are acutely unwell or injured and require specialist medical/nursing care and close monitoring. |
